I had a unique chance to work with Donna Brezinski MD, who is the founder and CEO of Little Sparrows Technologies, a biomedical startup based in Boston. Here are some of the major takeaways.
Enchant the Object
In the modern age of technology, design should follow its function. It’s design aesthetic should be magical in a sense. A great book recommendation is “Enchanted Objects” written by David Rose, a product designer, entrepreneur, and lecturer at the MIT Media Lab. In the book, Rose argues that technology needs to step away from the continued use of screens and instead, focus on making the technology less the center of attention.
This is a design philosophy that Little Sparrows Technology has taken to heart when it comes to designing their neonatal jaundice device, Bili-hut.
